Dr. Barnett joined Asheville Orthopaedic Associates in July, 2009 after completing his residency at Wake Forest University in Winston Salem, NC. He is originally from Johnson City, Tennessee and moved to Asheville with his wife and daughter. As a general orthopaedist, he cares for all musculoskeletal injuries and problems, but has a specific interest in hip and knee replacements including new technologies for young active patients. During his residency he received training in hip resurfacing, direct anterior hip replacement, partial knee replacement, and computer assisted surgery in addition to traditional hip/knee replacements and revision surgery. He looks forward to bringing these new procedures to Asheville to improve the lifestyles of patients in this active community.
