The shoulder and elbow joints work together. The shoulder is one of the most flexible joints in the human body, permitting you to rotate and place your arm in many different positions. It is this flexibility however, that also makes your shoulder prone to injury and instability. The elbow is a hinge type joint, allowing you to carry objects.
There are many things that can affect use of these joints, ranging from joint pain to bone fractures.
Correct diagnosis and treatment of a presenting shoulder or elbow problem can make a significant difference in your care experience.
Often, non-surgical treatment methods are recommended before surgery. If surgery is needed, we will assist you throughout the entire process. The Shoulder & Elbow specialists at Asheville Orthopaedic Associates are committed to working with you to accurately and correctly diagnose your shoulder or elbow problem and to recommend and implement an appropriate treatment plan.
