This Total Joint Program provides direct communication between Asheville Orthopaedic Associates and Mission Hospital and a direct point of contact for patients during their course of care. Asheville Orthopaedic Associate’s Nurse Care Coordinator is your direct resource for any questions you might have, so you always know what to expect and can quickly get answers to your questions.
Our Total Joint Program provides a completely patient-focused experience. This means that members of our Total Joint Team will be with you every step of the way to ensure your surgery and recovery is a complete success.
Our Total Joint Program provides:
A Nurse Care Coordinator who oversees your entire care process and is your resource before, during and after discharge.
A class 2 weeks before your surgery to meet your Nurse Care Coordinator, learn about the procedure, and learn how to care for yourself after discharge.
A comprehensive guidebook that explains joint surgery and strength exercises
A coach, usually a family member or friend, who learns the program and works along with you.
Surgeons trained in advanced pain relief and minimally invasive surgical techniques that result in less pain and quicker recovery
No matter which of our Total Joint Program surgeons is treating you, our standardized post-discharge protocols for total hip or total knee surgery will assist you in returning to daily activities more quickly.
